Well, I’m ashamed that I didn’t take better photos of the magnificent feast Miss Chrissy whipped together earlier this month. She even heated up her apartment to a tropical 98 degrees so it really felt like we were in Thailand. Thought I should recap the menu for those who couldn’t enjoy the spread- tofu spring rolls with cucumber and peanuty goodness sauces, chicken sate, and pineapple shrimp curry for the entree. delish! And for dessert- mango upsidedown cake. a la mode. yummmmm.

Feasting chez Chrissy

It’ll be a tough act to follow for sure but we’re up for the challenge. Miki’s cousin(s?) will be in town to help out so hopefully more workforce = some good food.

L& R- Heather, Chrissy and I discussed this date at the walkabout the other night. Looks like it’s the only Saturday available until mid September and by then Miss Heather will be on the east side. so hopefully this date works for you 2. yes? If not, we can try and orchestrate a mid week event… And please pass along the invite to Ernesto & Ana.

Before leaving you all for the evening I thought i’d take advantage of my new ”Administrator” privileges here and add one more pic in honor of Heather and her new job in the big manzana. This shot is from the fab powder day we all shared this winter in Mammoth (fab minus Chrissy’s spill off the chair).

yeah. getting shacked on the river. Then you coulda gotten back into the boat and had a frosty bud lite and some chex snacks and worked on your tan. but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. nobody wants to go to “Sacramento”. heh. well. I don’t know where else you can get bud lite from a boat cooler, stuff your face with chex snacks, and huff gas fumes while jetting by people fishing on the riverbanks ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

okay, *JULY 12. special alert* Chrissy is hosting the night of face stuffins. I hope you is all still free. I hired a clown. or maybe it’s a stripper. or maybe it’s a stripper clown, either way I’m not telling, because you’ll just have to show up to find out. and I’m not posting picture of that, because that’s for attendees eyes only.

You know, I look at this, and realize everyone is dressed to blend with the decor, with the exception of Miss Amanda with her green. It would look like a dinner out of Dwell, except for a certain someone who refused to cooperate with the plan of soft blues and browns with the occasionaly flower for accent colors. But I won’t name names. oh wait, I guess I already did.

there were peonies, some smelled like fleur de delish, some like smoked salmon, but gorgeous (spelled like gorge, Rachel) nonetheless….

halibut, salad, taters, spicy bread, oh and a brisket that tasted like a ball sack. not my words.

This is a home base for the discussion of really deep, interesting, intellectually stimulating and quite possible smutty and scandalous articles for really intresting, deep, intellectual and at times smutty and scandalous people to peruse and gather ’round the cocktails to dish about. Why? What? Who? Where? So many questions…. Admit it, your brain feels bigger already just thinking about the endless possibilities. What shall we read? what shall we imbibe? with whom shall we gather? Well. First I’m going to confess that this isn’t the home for dicussion of the articles themselves… this is the home of articles nominated or confirmed for reading and rehashing. Want to suggest one? want to suggest a place? want to bring someone new into the fold? Throw it down, just like you would if your name was Tiffany and you were a champion mud wrestler. that’s right. Grab it and slam it in the mud, and hope it stays down. that or someone’s bikini top comes off. either way, we’re all winners.

Just to get this fiesta on ice, I’m throwing out a suggestion, which is likely too long, but there are smaller portions to this baby, and it could be fun, or boring, but hey, maybe if we throw some mojitos in there, it will suddenly become interesting, and we’ll all just feel like we put our money in the vending machine and two snickers bars dropped off instead of one, and we’re winners of the snack lottery.

So I have some good news and some bad news.

Good news is I found an article for our reading group- see below-

Bad news is that I just signed up for a class that meets on Thursday nights

from May 8 – July 3. Boo.

Any other day of the week work, at least for May and June?
